While ‘house hunting’ in August of 1993, I came to believe that no matter what town in CT we wound up calling home, it would be the town that was meant to be. After beginning our initial home search in Ridgefield, CT we finally became most comfortable in Fairfield. We rented and then purchased a home in Greenfield Hill, all within 5 months.
We have never looked back. At first blush, Greenfield Hill looks like a tranquil, history-laden maturely landscaped New England treasure—and it is. There is an understated simplicity here; from the rambling stone walls surrounding many properties to what was once and still is the heart of the hill, Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, all is respectfully inviting.
Whether it’s daylight or nighttime when I pull into my home’s driveway at the end of the day, I automatically take a deep breath before exiting my car and quietly savor the ride home—the gift that is my journey through Greenfield Hill.
