Knowledge is power and I mean it!
There is a reason there are specialists in every industry today. Would you go to your friend and ask her or him if they think you broke your leg? Why no, you would go to the doctors and get an x-ray.
The same holds true for understanding your home’s value. Naturally the internet has made learning your home’s supposed value a snap. Zestimate, schmestimate! This random market value that is assigned to your house is purely that. Keep in mind that no one from Zillow has ever or will ever step foot in your house; therefore, their opinion will not be as valid as a real estate agent’s.
Good agents (this one included) tour the inventory by foot each week. They check the ‘hotsheets’ continuously throughout the day. They take buyers out to see houses, they literally walk through your home when asked for a market opinion, their expertise is not purely done by analytics.
So, before you get misinformation from various real estate sites which can either leave you feeling like the lord of the manor or a mere squatter, engage an agent who will not tell you what he or she thinks you would like to hear, but the direct facts. Blowing smoke and inaccuracies are a major disservice to you in the end.
