Deirdre McGovern has been a Darien resident for 15 years and counting. She loves everything about her community and home. A public relations/marketing specialist, Deirdre’s last career was with Revlon Inc. After leaving the demands of the NYC fashion and beauty industry, she and her husband moved to Darien to start a family and raise their three boys. Not one to stay idle, Deirdre has served on the boards of the Darien YWCA and the Darien Community Association. She has also sat on many different committees in her children’s schools and currently is the nominating chairperson for the Middlesex Middle School and co-enrichment chair for the Bellarmine Guild at Fairfield Prep, where her oldest son is a sophomore. Deirdre’s public relations/marketing experience combined with her extensive community service in Darien makes her the ideal realtor for new families thinking of moving to Darien and current Darien residents looking for a change. Deirdre’s biggest passion is her work for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. When her youngest son was diagnosed with this disease at birth, Deirdre and her husband Mark made a decision to make every effort possible to raise money and awareness to cure this disease. Their combined fundraising efforts have raised over $2 million for research and she currently acts as a mentor for the CF Youth Advisory Board. Deirdre will donate a portion of all proceeds from all sales transactions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
